Michele
McKnight Baker, Ph.D. is the founder and president of CultureConnects, providing
strategy formulation and planning and organizational change facilitation
services. The consultancy's unique expertise in the areas of
organizational culture and community formation help clients develop their
organizational culture and community for sustaining competitive advantage. CultureConnects’ mission is to
provide leading edge strategic educational products and services for
organizations committed to maximizing their capabilities and culture. The
consultancy serves
for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in fields such as manufacturing,
retail, healthcare, human services, financial services, hospitality,
technology and communications.
She is also founder
and president of Baker Marketing Communications, a corporate communications
firm established in 1982. Offering integrated marketing solutions to organizations,
Baker Marketing Communications established a varied customer base and a
network of professional subcontractors: A "virtual company" 15 years before
this business model gained national media attention. The consultancy led
the regional market in other ways. It was the first to provide desktop
publishing and the first in applying integrated marketing communications
strategies. Other services include: marketing research and planning, advertising,
media relations,
and crisis communication management. Dr. Baker is a member of numerous professional and academic societies. She has
served in various volunteer, leadership and advisory roles with professional, community
and faith-based organizations. Recent awards and honors include:
Rotary International Centennial Convention Symposium, co-presenter (2005); Great

Prior to founding
the company, Dr. Baker held executive management posts in California and
Pennsylvania. Her writing has appeared in numerous regional and national
publications. She conducts seminars and workshops on a variety of business
and marketing communications topics. Dr. Baker is a graduate of Smith College
and received her doctorate degree in organizational studies at the
