When we work with clients on
strategy, planning or culture issues, we pay careful attention to
implementation, and how the organization intends to sustain action. In keeping
with what we teach clients, a recent article in the Harvard Business Review
spells out the "Seven Behaviors for Transformation" needed to
successfully change strategies. These seven behaviors fall into two categories:
Value creation, increasing
employees' focus on:
- customers
- innovation
- results
Strategy execution, increasing employees'
understanding of the organization's:
- mission/business idea, vision and values
- accountability
- communications
- teamwork
The authors of Balanced Scorecard
and Strategy Map also elaborate on how to measure the readiness of intangible
assets to achieve organizational strategies, a task the authors admit, is easier
said than done. These tools have utility for MBAs and senior executives. Our
process takes into consideration the "intangible assets" of an
organization in a way that everyone in the organization can understand,
appreciate and apply.
Does your organization:
-
clearly articulate and
understand its business idea, vision and values?
-
act on strategic objectives
attuned to its culture and marketplace realities?
-
know where, and how, to focus
its energies?
How CultureConnects can help.
CultureConnects can
help your organization implement a strategy formulation, planning and
implementation process that the whole organization can understand and act on,
and is attuned to market realities and the organization's own "intangible
assets."
